Vintage Avon Soap Sets...

I went to one of my usual thrift shops and almost left empty handed. But then, something caught my eye and behold... a collection of boxed Avon soaps from the 70s & 80s. I can't confirm the dates because they are not on the boxes but I did do a bit of googling and got some information on a few. Someone just decided to get rid of their collection and I scored 10, yes TEN of these beauties.

Originally, there was a metal cover with a thermometer but I guess they decided to use it.

No soap dish but such a pretty bar of soap.

I think I like the artwork on this box the most.
It's so 70s, isn't it?

Vintage Yumminess

Some are recent finds with the exception of the vintage yellow earrings and necklace which were gifted to me. The Aldo clutch is not vintage but I kept going back to it, picking it up and going goo-goo over it. Will I ever use it? No. But I had to bring it home with me anyway.

80s silver plate brooch that instantly
brings to mind big hair and shoulder pads.

I fell for the rhinestone clasp.

Sweetest Aldo clutch. It's more like a deep fuscia than red.

Lacquered box that I kept going back to and looking at.
It was calling my name.

I had an idea for reupholstering a vintage wrought iron
gossip bench but it was not right for our decor. Bummer.

Vintage Estée Lauder perfumed pendant. I did walk away from
this one and went back the next day and bought it.

Gorgeous Givenchy pendant.

From a friend... nothing mellow about this yellow!

Chanel Goodness

I recently saw a black Chanel box sell online for $100. It was a purse box, card stock, no precious metals or bling. Crazy! Well, of course, I had to run and gather my wee stash of Chanel packaging. Does Chanel do anything less than incredibly awesome?

Remember this cute thing?

This pink boudoir lamp has some appeal despite the fact that it's not exactly high end with it's plastic lamp shade and chrome plated plastic parts. I think these lamps had lace over the ruffled shade. It's cute but maybe lacking a bit of pizzaz. So, I gave it some. Don't you think it's an improvement? The rhinestones are quite glittery but it's so hard to capture that in a photo without using the flash which makes everything look so harsh.

This is the before....

and this would be the after, first pic with the dreaded flash employed...
Would a rhinestone band on the shade
be over the top? Hubs thinks so.

The birdie and rabbit give their approval.
