What a great find! Glo-Hill was a Canadian company from Montreal that made barware and servingware as well as detailed cutlery, knives and BBQ tool sets. I'm not sure if this is a 50's or 60's piece but either way, it's FABulous!
The first thing that came to my mind was that it would be a great item for putting my garden tomatoes on to ripen but I was reminded that should a tomato umm.... spring a leak it would not be so good for the chrome finish. Good point.
The bakelite finish is like a cherry wood and I think the style of this piece is timeless. I can picture this tray being used to serve vintage style hors d'oeuvres at a Mad Men themed party. Pigs in a blanket or deviled eggs, anyone?
