I just can't get enough of vintage lighting. My home is adorned with chandeliers, pole lamps and table lamps. The master bedroom alone has a headboard lamp for reading, a bedside table lamp, a pole lamp with alabaster base, a crystal chandelier and a pair of gorgeous glass lamps that have clear glass star-shaped bases. So pretty.... and then there's all the one's I just have as part of my collection. Can a gal have too many?

Vintage Madness...
I've been busy with my camera, taking lots of photos of my vintage treasures. I might take 6 images to get one good one and then I have to open them in photoshop and get rid of the grey or yellow cast. Who knew getting a clean shot that truly represents the item would be so much work? OK... I knew it my head but the doing is quite the task.
Here's some of what's gotten done as of late. It feels like a small dent made. Hopefully soon, I'll get my little online shop up and running as I work my way through this learning curve. This is my passion and I've dreamt about doing this since I can't won't stop the love of finding that treasured item.

Royal Staffordshire Honeyglaze Plate
I'm not very knowledgeable about china, porcelain and such but I know a pretty thing when I see it. I can't find anything online that tells me about this plate. I would guess it's from around the 40s but that's a wild guess based on similar one found on eBay. It's in great condition, save for some obvious wear throughout the years. Wonderful eye candy! I would welcome any information on this if anyone's in the know.
Vintage Metal Tissue Box
This is so pretty! I was very fortunate to get this treasure as it wasn't even on display yet. This was brought out to me by a staff member. Am I special or what? (actually... she's the one who's special in my eyes). My research on this doesn't tell me what era this comes from but the back of the container reads '6 mb container made in England' and an online search led me to find a Baret Ware tissue box identical to this one; the pattern is called Chelsea.
It's hinged on both sides and is in excellent condition. There's a bit of wear on the back but who's looking at the back anyway? Also, when opened, one of the inside 'flaps' has remnants of tape that has become like a petrified part of the paint but who's looking at the inside of it anyway? It's just a stunning find and if the tissue boxes found on the grocery store shelves don't fit, it's a great place to keep papers, post cards, love letters.... sigh.
Gourmate Tiered Tray by Glo-Hill
What a great find! Glo-Hill was a Canadian company from Montreal that made barware and servingware as well as detailed cutlery, knives and BBQ tool sets. I'm not sure if this is a 50's or 60's piece but either way, it's FABulous!
The first thing that came to my mind was that it would be a great item for putting my garden tomatoes on to ripen but I was reminded that should a tomato umm.... spring a leak it would not be so good for the chrome finish. Good point.
The bakelite finish is like a cherry wood and I think the style of this piece is timeless. I can picture this tray being used to serve vintage style hors d'oeuvres at a Mad Men themed party. Pigs in a blanket or deviled eggs, anyone?

Ruby Sherbet Glasses
I love these little sherbet glasses. They are 70's Luminarc and the pattern is Cavalier. I have noticed from my research that some have 'straight' stems while these have a more decorative stem. Bottom line is they're made in France (oh la la), as indicated on the bottoms and are in lovely condition. I would say the colour is more like garnet but, really, are we splitting hairs here? Me thinks perhaps.

Vintage Libbey Condiment Set
A sweet find! No matching spoons but that's nothing as spoons for this set would be easy enough to replace (little glass ones would be perfect). On really hot summer days when it's just easier to fire up the bbq and have a hot dog or hamburger (totally gourmet, of course) this cutie patootie condiment set would come in rather handy, don't you think?
